Welcome Douglas, from Brazil via the Basque country to the Nanomedicine Lab!

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Douglas Nakahata who has joined the Nanomedicine Lab with a dual role as our Research Lab Manager and Research Assistant.

Douglas obtained his PhD in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP, Brazil) on metal complexes of sulfonamide ligands as antibacterial and anticancer agents. He worked as an Assistant Professor of Inorganic Chemistry Federal University of Goiás (UFG, Brazil) when relocated to Spain and joined the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) in the Basque country, working on gold-mediated targeting of selenoproteins and their bioconjugation.

In the Nanomedicine Lab, Douglas will contribute to experimental research projects involving both chemical and biological techniques, and support all of our research projects by ensuring the smooth daily operation and maintenance of the laboratory.
