We are pleased to welcome Ms. Isabela Bessa who has joined the Nanomedicine Lab as a Visiting PhD Student for 8 months.

Isabela began her PhD studies in 2023 at Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) in Brazil, focusing on the modulation of physicochemical properties of inorganic nanomaterials to enhance blood–brain barrier translocation via transcytosis mechanisms, aiming to improve therapeutic efficacy against glioblastoma.

In the Nanomedicine Lab she will be exploring the complexation of small molecules on graphene oxide for cancer treatment.
