Ms. Rafaela Paz Garcia Alvarez, PhD Student
Rafaela obtained her BSc in Chemistry at the University Complutense of Madrid, Spain in 2013. For her final year dissertation she conducted research on “Molecular metallomesogens based on silver metal complexes with mono and polycatenar N-donor ligans”. In 2015 she completed her Erasmus Mundus MSc in Molecular Nano and Bio Photonics (MONABIPHOT) and her research project focused on “Multifunctional Implant Design for Bone Infection Treatment”. Rafaela joined the Nanomedicine Lab at the University of Manchester as a full-time PhD student for the development of gold nanoparticles for optical and optoacoustic imaging in collaboration with CIC biomaGUNE research institute in San Sebastian, Spain.
