Nanosolutions in Oncology Severo Ochoa Workshop

Yesterday’s workshop was a success! Co-organized by Dr. MariCarmen Estevez (NanoBiosensors and Bioanalytical Applications Group) and Prof. Kostas Kostarelos (Nanomedicine Lab), the Workshop brought together physicians and clinical researchers from different clinical sub-specialities, with one common topic: Nanotechnology for Oncology.

This one-day, in-person event was organised as part of the Severo Ochoa Center for Excellence (2023–2026) Award to ICN2, aiming to bring together clinicians across oncology specialties in Barcelona and ICN2 researchers to explore how advancements in nanoscience and nanotechnology can address pressing clinical challenges in oncology.

Clinicians presented the challenges they face in managing different oncology conditions, and ICN2 experts proposed different solutions that nanoscience and nanotechnology can offer. There was a plenary talk by Dr. Maria Vieito from Val titled: “Challenges in early clinical trials of glioblastoma”. We closed the day with a very interesting round table.
