Assessing the human health risks of micro- and nanoplastics in food
In 2019, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) found that microplastics in food was a topic of increasing concern among EU citizens. In order to address these concerns, EFSA has invited speakers to present their data on levels of micro- and nanoplastics in food, and their potential effects on human health at their online scientific colloquium. With this colloquium, EFSA hope to promote collaboration between stakeholders and gain insight into the current state of play and ongoing research on this topic.
