Mariarosa obtained her first degree (with distinction) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Calabria, Italy. She is a registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council and an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry. She first came at the School of Pharmacy in 2006, as an Erasmus student, working on the micromanipulation of liposome membranes and tether formation at the Centre for Drug Delivery Research. She then joined the School of Pharmacy in October 2007 for her PhD studies. She completed her research project on ‘Peptide Nanofibres for Drug Delivery’ in November 2011. Mariarossa joined the Nanomedicine Lab in February 2012 working on the development of nanotube-mediated drug delivery systems.
