Mr. Thomas Kisby, PhD Student


Tom obtained his BSc in Medical Sciences at the University of Leeds in 2015. During his studies, he conducted an industrial placement year at MedImmune, Cambridge investigating novel biologic therapies for inflammatory liver disease and fibrosis. On returning to Leeds in 2014, Tom completed his final year lab project focusing on the thioredoxin antioxidant system in cancers of the brain and nervous system. In 2015 he was awarded a 4-year studentship with the EPSRC & MRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Regenerative Medicine at the University of Manchester and joined the Nanomedicine Lab in April 2016 to carry out his PhD project on in vivo cell reprogramming as a strategy to enhance tissue repair and regeneration.
